Last summer we started welcoming guests for private tours and tastings. The tours are always done by a family member and when available wine maker Don Baker is on hand for all you technical needs as well as fun wine facts. Currently there are two options.
1) Tour and Tasting at the Vineyards.
Situated at the end of a country lane Sciandri Family Vineyards offers spectacular views of the Mayacamas mountain range to the west and the Vaca mountains to the east. Sciandri Family Vineyards is wine touring at its scenic and uncrowed best. Guided by a famiy member you will get an upclose view of life at Sciandri Family Vineyards. As you enjoy our current release, you can wonder into the raised gardens that offer our family bountiful harvests year round, or take a walk down to the pond, where your bound to see an abundance of wildlife that call Sciandri Family Vineyards home. We will end our tour (weather permitting) under the pergola, with artisan cheeses as we sit and discuss life on the farm.
2) Tour and Tasting at the Winery
Laird Family Estate Winery is where Sciandri Family Vineyards' wines are carefully crafted by wine maker Don Baker. It is here were you can see the "guts" of the operation. Again, guided by a family member, we start in a private tasting room, where you will taste our current release. We will then venture on a tour of the facilities, where you can see the process of winemaking in effect. From Harvest to Bottle you will learn the journey of the grape. Depending on time of year barrel samples can be arranged.
